The design group Carroccera Collective featured in Dezeen this month for the creation of an open-air living space titled The Missing Room pavilion, situated in a former vineyard in Piedmont, northern Italy. The collective’s current team members include AA alum Angelica Rimoldi, Dariia Nepop, Gianfrancesco Brivio Sforza and Nacha Palomeque Coll, and AA former student Caspar Anne Schols.
The pavilion was fabricated by Italian metalworker Carlo Susenna, who crafted the central chimney. While Alberto Pisani, a local maker, designed a bespoke cooking module for the chimney’s base. The cooking module powers the ovens on one side of the pavilion and heats water for bathing on the other side; providing a series of species around the chimney for bathing, sitting, cooking and stargazing.
