A conceptual project by AA Diploma 14 Tutor Pierre d’Avoine with architects Yimeng Shi, Harry Togi, Ray Zhilei Xu and structural engineer Aran Chadwick has been published by the Camden New Journal with a view to supporting its realisation. The project, originally conceived by Peter Bum Su Park, proposes a new park for London that liberates Euston Station from the gloom and negativity surrounding HS2. It intends to provide London with a unique elevated public open space with a panorama over the city to the south and the noise of Euston Road hidden out of sight.
The project acts in opposition to the extensive demolition, inconvenience and damage that HS2 has so far caused to nearby residents, communities and nature, with many mature trees having been cut down.
