AA tutors Elif Erdine, Milad Showkatbakhsh and Michael Weinstock of the Emergent Technologies and Design (EmTech) programme have finished as runners-up in the Tallinn Architecture Biennale 2022 (TAB), one of the most prestigious architectural festivals in the Balkans.

The trio collaborated with Nicolo Bencini, of BuroHappold Engineering, to design RE|EVOLVE, a proposal that intends to explore new design and construction technologies that repurpose materials which have completed their first life cycle towards innovative structural formations. The aspiration for RE|EVOLVE is driven by the awareness of production in a world with limited resources that cannot infinitely sustain current rates of growth.
