The current AA exhibition Renée Gailhoustet: A Thousand and One Ways of Living, curated by NVBL, has been featured in both Wallpaper* and World of Interiors. The exhibition, on view in the Front Members' Room and Bar at Bedford Square until Saturday 21 March, celebrates the French architect's pioneering approach to social housing in the Parisian suburbs and builds on work completed by architect, NVBL director and AA Intermediate 15 unit tutor Nichola Barrington-Leach during her Royal Academy of Arts 2023 Residency. For World of Interiors, Robert Bevan highlights the impact of the exhibition's superimposition of floor plans from Gailhoustet's apartments onto the Georgian rooms of the AA; for Wallpaper*, Teshome Douglas-Campbell notes the focus placed by the show on the residents' experience of these buildings as well as their architecture.
The exhibition precedes the release of Renée Gailhoustet, a new book edited by Nichola Barrington-Leach and published by AA Publications, which brings together several voices to celebrate Gailhoustet's architecture. The publication is available to pre-order from the AA Bookshop (publication date late March 2026). .
