AA INTER15 Tutor Nichola Barrington-Leach has been invited to speak at the Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL) lecture series Crunch: The Combinatory Urbanism of Iwona Buczkowska on Monday 13 October.
Iwona Buczkowska will reflect on her approach to combinatory urbanism and oblique spatial design in response to post-war mass housing in Paris. She will discuss her work in the context of changing political and social contexts, with responses from Nichola Barrington-Leach. The event will be chaired by Robin Wilson.
Barrington-Leach will also refer to her research on the architect Renée Gailhoustet, following a residency she was awarded in 2023 by the Royal Academy of Arts in collaboration with the British Council and the FRAC Centre Archive. A video relating to this research can be viewed here.
