The Street in 10 Years is a two-phase competition to transform public squares, streets and infrastructures over a period of 10 years in Logroño in Spain. AA Projective Cities Tutor Daryan Knoblauch’s winning proposal entitled SCENIUS 26003 proposes a pavilion, an infrastructural adaptation plan and a collective archive, among other strategies for redevelopment. The competition jury comprised Aslı Çiçek, Nick Axel, MAIO, Amélia Brandão Costa y Rodrigo da Costa Lima and Javier Peña Ibáñez.
The first act, a pavilion called Megaphone, will be open from 26 April – 1 May. It will provide a fabric shelter which is held up by a rented crane and held down by rock ballasts. The crane will reappear each year as a signifier of communication and change until the project’s completion in 2034. By studying, evaluating and analysing the street through conversations with locals, experts and cultural producers, the project proposes an open process that is both iterative and incomplete by design.
