AA alumna Siyue Zhang and current student Peiyao Yu have been chosen as winners of the My Future City – 2022 Metaverse Design Idea Festival for their project Dual-exist Dong Village.

Dual-exist Dong Village seizes the rituals of the Dong ethnic group in China in a bid to maintain ethnic identity and a sense of community and belonging through virtual crafting.

The project provides the possibility of remote access and multiple ways of experiencing the village, creating new forms of business, for villagers to make a living, and makes it possible to share instead of selling traditions.
