Projective Cities postgraduate programme tutor Cristina Gamboa, as part of the architectural cooperative Lacol, has been announced as the winner of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture Mies van der Rohe 2022 for the project La Borda – Cooperative Housing.

The Barcelona-based project is a self-organized development with the aim of providing access to decent non-speculative housing. It contains 28 units and several community spaces: kitchen-dining room, laundry, multipurpose space, guestrooms, health space, storages and exterior and semi-exterior spaces such as the patio, bike parking and terraces.
