AA tutors James Kwang-Ho Chung and Brendon Carlin, unit masters of Diploma 19, have been invited as artists to the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism (SBAU) 2021 to exhibit (UN)FAITHFULL SEOULS – A Manual for Architectural Mutations in Korea. The project focuses on an alternative way of practising architecture by observing Seoul’s mutations; the work views the ‘unfaithful’ (to any prescribed ideal or proper form of behaviour, space and life) as those carrying out experiments with their space and lives in the Seoul.
(UN)FAITHFULL SEOULS is a part of the Seoul Exhibition of SBAU 2021. The exhibition presents a collective urban narrative by exploring the expanded awareness of a cyclical link that connects Seoul and its challenges to other cities around the world. The Seoul Exhibition is curated by AA alumni Jinhong Jeon and Yunee Choi.
Collaborators:
Kyungjoo Min, Hyun Sik Yoon, Joonsung Kim, Yanling He, Zeena Ismail, Shanna Sim Ler Chung, Taek Gyun Won and Cheryl Wan Xuan Cheah
