The Architectural Association (AA) School of Architecture has announced the final shortlist of five candidates for the position of AA Director.
This announcement follows a comprehensive search process undertaken by the Search Committee, composed of elected representatives of the students, administrative staff, academic staff and Council constituencies. The Search Committee has been assisted throughout by the executive search agency Anderson Quigley, and the process was contributed to and overseen by the Appointment Committee of the AA Council. Both Anderson Quigley and the Appointment Committee have contributed to the evaluation and finalisation of the candidate shortlist.
The shortlisted candidates (in alphabetical order) are:
Professor Andrew Clancy: Professor of Architecture, Kingston School of Art. Director at Clancy Moore architects.
Dr Mark Morris: Head of Teaching and Learning and Chair of the Senior Management Team, the Architectural Association School of Architecture.
John Palmesino and Ann-Sofi Rönnskog (Joint Candidacy): Co-Directors, Territorial Agency; Diploma Unit Masters, the Architectural Association School of Architecture.
Dr Ingrid Schroder: Head of Design Teaching, and Director of the MPhil in Architecture and Urban Design (MAUD) at the University of Cambridge Department of Architecture.
Professor Jill Stoner: Professor of the Graduate School at the University of California, Berkeley
All five candidates will address the AA School Community in a presentation, Q&A and workshops during the week commencing 25 April 2022 (Week 1 of Term 3).
This will be followed by a vote of the School Community, in which all current students, year-out students, academic and administrative staff, as well as members of Council will take part in an advisory vote to the Council on who they wish to see as the new Director of the AA School.
Members of the AA School community can read more about the search process on the Search Committee microsite – an aaschool.ac.uk email address is required to access the site.
