
Claire Potter’s poem, Invisible Hinges, is one of five shortlisted poems for the prestigious Peter Porter Poetry award offered by the Australian Book Review. The award received over 1360 poetry entries from 32 countries.
Potter’s poem – a long, four sonnet sequence – was written in response to the AA workshop and lecture delivered last year by First Nations Creative Directors of HOME, the Australia Pavilion at the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale.
Alongside teaching at the AA, Potter is author of four poetry collections, Acanthus (Giramondo, 2022), Swallow (Five Islands, 2010), N’ombre (Vagabond, 2007) and In Front of a Comma (Poets Union, 2006), as well as a number of essays and translations.
