Rebecca Jak, who is currently studying in the Diploma Programme at the AA, is co-curating an exhibition with Taylor Hall at No 1 Poultry titled What lasts doesn’t always hold shape. The exhibition, presented by Hypha Studios, will run from 30 January until 7 March and brings together works by Marian Drew, Levent Ozruh and Jobe Burns, all of whom work with stone using different methodologies and technologies. Responding to the site's layered history, the exhibition reframes stone not as fixed and permanent, but as something continually shaped by human intervention and care – using materiality as co-collaborator rather than fixed ground.
The exhibition is also accompanied by a public programme that seeks to expand on the exhibition's themes and transform it into a space for discussion and exchange. Details about events can be found here: www.what-lasts.com/public-program
Private View: Thursday 29 January featuring vinyl DJ set by Malur and conceptual live performance.
Thereafter, the exhibition will be open from Thursday–Sunday from 12–6pm and by appointment.
