Former AA Director Mohsen Mostafavi will chair a panel discussion at the Barbican on Monday 22 May around architectural historian Manfredo Tafuri’s book L’architettura moderna in Giappone (Modern Architecture in Japan). First published in Italian in 1964, the book offers a perspective on the Metabolist architecture of Kenzo Tange and Kunio Maekawa, and has recently been published for the first time in English. This new edition is published by MACK and edited by Mohsen Mostafavi and features accompanying essays by a range of contributors.
For the event at the Barbican, Mostafavi will be joined in conversation by AA Diploma 11 tutor Shin Egashira alongside Luisa Lorenza Corna and Yasufumi Nakamori. Read more and book tickets on the Barbican website.
