AA Visiting School Sonora Programme Co-Heads Era Savvides and Nasios Varnavas, and Diploma tutors Bushra Mohamed and Nana Biamah-Ofosu, have been selected for the work of their design studios as one of the Best New Practices of 2021 by Archdaily.
Urban Radicals, the practice of Savvides and Varnavas, examines public space and the notion of urbanism and community from a variety of perspectives. Its recent project, Swooping Pavilion, has been longlisted by the Architect’s Journal Brent Cross Town competition. The competition asked architects to create a net-zero design concept for a sports pavilion on Clitterhouse Playing Fields, North London.
Studio NYALI, the practice of Diploma tutors Mohamed and Biamah-Ofosu, focuses on identity, shared histories and spaces with a strong belief that architecture must be understood as the embodiment and artifact of the human experience.
