Admin History: The lecture was the second in a three-part lecture series entitled, 'The Birth of the Subject'. This lecture serves to problematize the categories of human and humanity in biological, evolutionary and ethical dimensions. Mark Cousins suggests that such categories are constructions of Western science and forms of knowledge and he uses specific examples to discuss perceptions of one group of human beings by another group of human beings.
