In this lecture, Mark Cousins turns to the topic of 'makeup'. Beginning from a discussion of the 'natural' face. Cousins references Charles Baudelaire and Sigmund Freud In order to argue that beauty belongs to artifice, and in order to debate whether 'makeup' is located within in the categories of identification and image.
