Admin History: The recording is of the 13th lecture in the series entitled 'Conservation', given by Mark Cousins as part of the AA General Studies programme, 1996-97. In this lecture, Mark Cousins examines concepts of 'inside' and 'outside' and discusses their relationship to each other and the impact this has upon understandings of time and heritage. Cousins argues that there is no longer a clearly marked difference between inside and outside and that a rigid conception of these two states serves to remove objects from time and from history.
Custodial History: Original recording (format unknown) was made by the AA Audio Visual Department and a digital copy (.wma format) has been retained on the department's servers since c2013.
