Admin History: The recording is of the 10th lecture in the series entitled 'The Neighbour', given by Mark Cousins as part of the AA Open Lecture series, 2009-2010. In this lecture Mark Cousins provides a summary of the ongoing topic of this series, 'the neighbor', and its conjunctions. Cousins further elaborates on the concept of queuing in post modernity and modernity with the example of suburban streets and houses, before exploring the errors of the common definition of community. He then proposes different notions of community, solidarity and 'non-identity', as seen through Kant's argument on aesthetics and the theory of subjectivity.
Custodial History: Original recording (format unknown) was made by the AA Audio Visual Department and a digital copy (.iso format) has been retained on the department's servers since c2013.
