Admin History: The recording is of the 8th lecture in the series entitled 'Distructure', given by Mark Cousins as part of the AA Open Lecture series, 2008-2009. In this lecture, Mark Cousins' argument focuses upon the urban and the architectural, as objects that can be destroyed. He examines the strategic aerial bombing of German cities, including Dresden, Cologne and Hamburg, by the Allied forces during the Second World War. Cousins carries out a close analysis of a number of the narratives and arguments put forth in the debates regarding the morality of the campaign.
Custodial History: Original recording (format unknown) was made by the AA Audio Visual Department and a digital copy (.iso format) has been retained on the department's servers since c2013.
