Admin History: The recording is of the 1st lecture in the series entitled 'Miracles', given by Mark Cousins as part of the AA Open Lecture series, 2016-2017. In this lecture, Mark outlines his concept of 'the miracle', loosely defining it as a course of events under the belief in magical thinking. He presents it as a problem concerned with the structure of 'the wish', in which the wish doesn't necessarily come from the beneficiary. Cousins therefore tries to uncover the third person, not the saint or the beneficiary. The important person is the one wishing.
