Admin History: The recording is of the 1st lecture in the series entitled 'The Scape', given by Mark Cousins as part of the AA General Studies programme, 2004-2005. In this lecture, Mark Cousins questions just how we situate ourselves topographically in the present moment and what account we give of ourselves, our subjectivity, and our practices. He approaches this issue by tracing the history of technology, distance and space, via the theories of a range of thinkers including Aby Warburg, Sigmund Freud and Michel Foucault.
Custodial History: Original recording (format unknown) was made by the AA Audio Visual Department and a digital copy (.wma format) has been retained on the department's servers since c2013.
Aquisition: Digital preservation and access copies were created by the AA Archives in 2021, using the digital file held by the the AA Audio Visual Department.
