Admin History: The recording is of the 5th lecture in the series entitled 'Technology and the First Person Singular', given by Mark Cousins as part of the AA Open Lecture series, 2010-2011. In this lecture, Mark Cousins considers architectural representation, debating whether drawing is hegemonized through a distinction between representation and reality. He gives a general account of the relationship between sense experience, in which there is a subject, and a biological being that can represent what is beyond the skin. He presents the work and ideas of thinkers including Bruno Snell and Heinrich Wölfflin.
Custodial History: Original recording (format unknown) was made by the AA Audio Visual Department and a digital copy (.iso format) has been retained on the department's servers since c2013.
