Admin History: The recording is of the 3rd lecture in the series entitled 'Where is Everyday Life?', given by Mark Cousins as part of the AA Open Lecture series, 2012-2013. In this lecture, Mark Cousins explores 'everyday life' in the night. He starts by building a definition around the quotidian or the mundane, suggesting that the category serves to replaces the figure of the crowd. It is something always understood by 'the crowd' as a reaction, never an object. Finally, he proposes that we should therefore consider the idea of 'the everyday' as a zone in which an object can meet desire, similar to the state of dreaming, yet unlike it because it is conscious and awake.
Custodial History: Original recording (format unknown) was made by the AA Audio Visual Department and a digital copy (.iso format) has been retained on the department's servers since c2013.
