Admin History: The recording is of the 8th lecture in the series entitled 'The Poetics of Cliche', given by Mark Cousins as part of the AA Open Lecture series, 2011-2012. In this lecture, Mark Cousins investigates the relationship of clich to ideology, rhetoric and truth. He questions whether the clich, in the category of 'what everybody knows' operates as a function of ideology.
