Admin History: The recording is of the 7th lecture in the series entitled 'The Poetics of Cliche', given by Mark Cousins as part of the AA Open Lecture series, 2011-2012. In this lecture, Mark Cousins explores Art's capacity to destroy meaning and how power is sustained and interrupted. He investigates notions of 'image', 'poetic image' and 'acoustic image' before debating 'the imaginary' and its role in the image of oneself.
Custodial History: Original recording (format unknown) was made by the AA Audio Visual Department and a digital copy (.iso format) has been retained on the department's servers since c2013.
