Admin History: The recording is of the 9th lecture in the series entitled 'The Poetics of Cliche', given by Mark Cousins as part of the AA Open Lecture series, 2011-2012. In this lecture, Mark Cousins points out the absence of decisive conclusions as to what constitutes 'the clich.' He explores the notions of singularity, quantity and repetition in architecture in relation to clich alongside kitsch, pastiche, contemporary and past.
