Please note: this event will be held online to ensure everyone can safely attend and also since some speakers will be joining us remotely from around the world.
Please join us for an autumn symposium to celebrate the life of Mark Cousins, his three decades of Friday Lectures and the intellectual generosity of his teaching practice at the Architectural Association. The Symposium will take place on what would have been Mark’s 74th birthday and the AA’s 174th birthday. The day will be organised thematically around a number of lectures and series that spanned Mark’s time at the AA. Panellists will respond to Mark’s audacity and originality and the distinctive way his lectures were performed. The discussion will take its own course, opening, no doubt, onto personal and shared recollections.
The day will conclude with a dedication of the Lecture Hall. There will be recollection toasts by former and current postgraduate students. We hope that the day will produce a living portrait of Mark and the space for us to remember him together.
