David Erdman and Clover Lee define and discuss the role of mass production and mass media in the context of projects they are developing at davidclovers. davidclovers brings together the practices of David Erdman and Clover Lee. The collaboration harnesses their expertise and knowledge as both innovative designers and researchers. The practice centres on principles of understanding mass at different scales from an in depth focus on materials and fabrication to how people collect, interact, condense and form spatial networks. davidclovers recent projects include a speculative house proposal (7 Masses) they are developing with artist CEB Reas and a multi-unit Artist housing project in Beijing. Erdman was a co-founder of servo and the principal of their Los Angeles office. With servo, he designed and completed numerous projects in the US. He has lectured internationally and been involved with key symposia on emerging topics in Architecture. Prior to davidclovers, Lee was the principal of plusClover. Her award-winning work has been exhibited internationally. David Erdman teaches at the UCLA Department of Architecture and Urban Design. Clover Lee is an Assistant Professor at Rice University School of Architecture.
