YUSHI LI will share some of her inspiration and working process of her works “Your Reservation Is Confirmed” and “Paintings, Dreams and Love”, and discuss the idea of domesticity, fantasy and tableau photography, which can be used as an engaging tool for the students of (IF) THE WHOLE STREET IS A HOUSE, a summer school unit led by Lisa Chan (founder of It’s a Local Collective) and Li at the Architectural Association. Li’s work has been exhibited internationally, with recent group show at Fotografiska, Stockholm and solo shows at Union Gallery, London and Vasli Souza, Oslo. Li’s work mainly engages with the question of the gaze, in relation to gender, sexuality and desire.
The event is part of a series of educational programme delivered by Lisa Chan and Yushi Li in collaboration with the Architectural Association and Richard Saltoun Gallery. The event is supported by MALIN+GOETZ.
