
In 2022, marking the twentieth year of the practice, two books were published on the work of DRDH. The first, DRDH Stormen, Bodø is part of the Norwegian As Built series and looks in detail at their concert hall and city library buildings in Bodø. Norway. The second, DRDH London | Antwerpen, de Aedibus international 27, from the Swiss Publishers Quart Verlag, offers an overview of significant projects across a range of scales, built over that period. Each richly illustrated book features an essay on the practice: For the As Built publication, Norwegian Architect Knut Longva writes in his essay, Being Ordinary , about the project in Bodø and reflects upon its influences and influence. Introducing the de Aedibus international, Stepping Out, the text by Ellis Woodman, Director of the Architecture Foundation, explores broader themes and ideas that underpin the work.
DRDH was founded by Daniel Rosbottom and David Howarth and has studios in London and Antwerp. The practice’s current work includes a number of significant public buildings in Belgium, including the Opera in Gent, the Bourla Theatre in Antwerp and a new rehearsal hall for the Belgian National Orchestra in Brussels. In London it is currently completing a new public library and cinema for Sidcup, in the London Borough of Bexley.
The evening will be structured around three short reflections by writer and director of the Architecture Foundation, Ellis Woodman, distinguished architect, Tony Fretton and acclaimed photographer, David Grandorge, who will each discuss aspects of the ways in which the architecture of DRDH is experienced.
