Join us for the book launch of a+u 634 Carmody Groarke
a+u 634 features the work of Carmody Groarke. Presented in order of their lifespan, 21 key projects document a gradually evolving body of work, from temporary and ephemeral structures to buildings intended to outlive several generations. While changing in timescale, the featured projects and essays each explore ideas of resilience, transformation and timeliness in architecture, from a three-day pavilion that celebrated urban street life to an archive building designed to store collections into the coming decades. The publication features three critical essays and commentaries authored by architecture and art historian Philip Ursprung, researcher, writer and curator Ruth Lang and artist and sculptor Antony Gormley.
We are delighted to welcome Kevin Carmody and Andy Groarke to the AA Bookshop to celebrate the launch of the publication over refreshments.
The book will be sold at a special price of £25.
