Parveen Adams analyses some of Bruce Naumans installations in relation to psychical space (which is quite different to perspectival space) and an idea of equilibrium (which is quite unrelated to having ones feet firmly planted on the ground). She also looks briefly at the manner in which the voice functions in Naumans work. This lecture serves as an introduction to the course Psychoanalysis and the image. Parveen Adams is director of the MA course in Psychoanalysis at Brunel University, co-editor of The Woman in Question and author of The Emptiness of the Image.
