Circulation body was at first a linear or linking space, then spaces generated from one formal and geometrical rule. Circulation body has evolved as a critique of the position of function in architecture. - Jun Aoki. A graduate of Tokyo University, Aoki worked for Arata Isozaki before setting up his practice in 1991 with the intention of building anything that seemed interesting. He has designed a number of prototypical works that reinterpret conventional forms, ranging from private houses to museums and a swimming pool. In his first visit to the AA Aoki presents an overview of his work and proposes a new formalistic approach to architecture.
