dECOi's interest in the potential of digital technologies has significantly increased through immersion in the research environs of MIT. Mark Goulthorpe, principle of dECOI, looks at three projects - Miran Galerie, Paris; Bankside Lofts Extension, London; and Borromean Voronoi Sculpture, New York - in their attempts to sustain formal elegance through a prescient technical articulacy. The formal liberty and technical exactitude promised by digital tools might suggest a radical realignment of extant professional and fabrication protocols. This talk questions the imapct of such projects on pedagogy itself. Mark Goulthorpe is Associate Professor of MIT. He has taught at the University of Kassel, the AA, and the Ecole Spciale in Paris.
