Invited contributions from an extended network of collaborators and an accompanying programme of events will transform the AA Gallery into a live platform during the exhibition run, reflecting Francisco and Tawanda’s iterative, conversational and relational approach to making.
This event takes place in the AA Gallery. It has limited capacity with standing-room only.
Andu Masebo is a product designer and furniture maker with a working background in carpentry, ceramics, metalwork and glass. Working across a broad spectrum of materials, he often shifts between the role of the designer and the maker as a way of generating ideas that make connections between the two. Andu’s work is characterised by simplicity, with an aim to tell clear and accessible stories that shorten the distance between the process of making things and the way they can be understood by their eventual audience.
Charlotte Kingsnorth cuts through traditional craft techniques and industrial processes as an art form, producing works that reflect on contemporary culture. Her work welds functionality with sculpture, where pre-existing chair frames are inflated with alter egos. She is interested in anthropomorphic forms and carves personality into the materials she uses. Kingsnorth is a graduate of the Royal College of Art’s design products programme and runs a London-based practice, working with private clients, galleries, brands and global institutions, including The Bill Gates Foundation, Fendi, SHOWstudio, Tyler The Creator, Christies, ASAP Rocky, The Crafts Council, The V&A, Holon Design Museum in Israel, Triennale Design Museum in Milan, and Saatchi Gallery in London. She has shown in design fairs at Nomad in Monaco, St. Moritz and Capri, Design Miami, New York, London, Paris and Milan, and has works in the permanent collection at Turkey’s Odunpazari Modern Museum.
