The intermedia performance explores the process of integration into a new destination which entails a redefinition of one’s image/identity and their relationship with space and their body. Five artists and four creative fields intertwine and pass through phases inspired by Jacques Lacan's "Mirror Stage". Each medium has its own role to perform as they invite the audience to witness the sequence of transformations a person experiences upon arriving in his/her Ithaca, until the decision moment. “Is this where I aspire to be?”
The performance will be followed by a Q&A session, chaired by Tamara Tomic-Vajagic, Senior Lecturer, Department of Dance, University of Roehampton | Centre of Dance Research
The project is developed by Kyriaki Nasioula and Argyris Angeli as their Final Thesis for the MFA in Spatial Performance and Design at the Architectural Association Interprofessional Studio.
Kyriaki Nasioula and Argyris Angeli are two founding members of Gesamtatelier, a platform by/for young practitioners from several creative fields who collaborate towards the conception and realisation of interdisciplinary projects. The team aspires to push the boundaries of several domains, mediums and genres: performance art, dance, design, sound composition, curating, architecture and the visual arts.
