Designer, critic, theorist of contemporary architecture, Jeff Kipnis has a particular interest in the uses of exotic form. Beginning with a video clip of a school of fish and (almost) ending in a ballroom, Kipnis, utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach that draws freely on developments in the sciences and humanities, explores the monad as a model construction of coherence capable of synthesizing unity and difference. Jeff Kipnis is a Professor at the Knowlton School of Architecture and was the founder and first Director of the AAs Graduate Design Group from 1992-95.
