New Commons for Europe captures the vitality, the immediacy and the doubts of a generation of architects living in a particular, historical moment of the European Union. New Commons for Europe is the transcription of a public discussion that took place at the Architectural Association and a collection of interviews held all over Europe that brought together architects whose actions can be characterised by the notion of ‘engagement’ – on personal and collective levels. New Commons for Europe addresses the role of the architect and their ability to produce projects and spaces for the common good, with alternative means and profits.
Representatives from the following invited practices took part: Anthony Engi Meacock (Assemble), Tiago Mota Saraiva (Ateliermob), Mathieu Delorme and Aurélien Delchet (ateliergeorges), Markus Bader (raumlabor), Jack Self (REAL), Axel Axinte and Cristi Borcan (studioBASAR), Holly Lewis (We Made That).
