After more than sixty days relentlessly fishing shark in the South Atlantic open waters, the ILHA BRAVA docks in the port of Montevideo, Uruguay, fulfilling its cyclical routine. Senegalese, Indonesian and Galician crew-members wait inside this small vessel until they are called by the rough dark chasms of the sea again. They are part of an endless story of shadows and ghosts, all unable to reach and caress a haunting dream of home that comes alive every time they step foot on solid land, a land that is not their own.
This screening of the film NOCTURNO: GHOSTS OF THE SEA IN PORT in the AA Gallery coincides with the exhibition EN LA ARENA SE HA BAÑADO LA SOMBRA. It will begin with a brief introduction by Álvaro F. Pulpeiro with a Q&A to follow.
