Join us for the book launch of NONSUCH
A book of essays, photographs, drawings and student projects relating to the work of Unit 14, London Met School of Architecture 2015/16. The unit programme invited students to reimagine big buildings in London suburbia and make comparisons between the grand public spaces of Elizabethan Courtier House and Russian Constructivist architecture in terms of their formal compositions and their social programmes. Research addressed construction, environment and the relationship between object, space and representation in Elizabethan and Soviet architecture.
The book includes essays by leading academics: Dean Hawkes, Mary Ann Steane, Michael Murawski Gleb Sobolev, Alexey Ginzberg as well as ex-students: Nat Shields and Liam Ashmore with an introduction by Pierre d'Avoine and Colette Sheddick
We are delighted to welcome Pierre, Colette, Liam and colleagues to the AA Bookshop to celebrate the launch of this new publication over refreshments.
