You will be opening up a collective insight into the notion of RECOGNITION. Recognition is a response to an event, a person, or an object in the form of a memory drawn up; a recollection, or an identification of a subject from previous encounters or knowledge. Recognition as … identification | recall | remembrance | recollection | acknowledgement | acceptance | admission | concession | granting | appreciation | gratitude | credit | commendation | acclamation … and many other moments and conceptualisations which you will hopefully be bringing into the table.
Each lecture presents fragments of material from Quotidien and AArchitecture issues, through the invitation of authors of articles that have been submitted to either publication, as well as other guests whose work might be relevant to the theme of the lecture. The lectures aim to generate conversation between and amongst students, through the following themes; Recognition, Copyright and Esoteric, that we feel are especially pertinent to students in the AA, but also adequately addressed within the school community. Each lecture proposes to bring together 4-5 guest speakers who would present his or her work, in slides of text and visual images, and how it relates to the relevant theme for approximately 5 minutes, before a general 30 minute roundtable discussion that will be chaired and moderated by one of us, that is open to the audience and other students to participate and ask questions as well.
