Focusing on the example of art school-trained fashion designers in relation to the fashion industry as a whole, Angela McRobbie argues that although the industry is inevitably seen as volatile and under-capitalised, there are in fact more opportunities for co-operation across the whole field of fashion production than feminists and policy makers have frequently imagined.
