Talk by Fernanda Balata, Senior Programme Lead, Coastal Economies, New Economics Foundation
The New Economics Foundation is the UK’s only people-powered think tank, working to build a new economy where people really take control. Putting people in control means building their capabilities, and supporting them in taking ownership of their places, their local resources, and their working lives; helping them build resilient economies, through healthier and more productive ecosystems, that can withstand external shocks; and enabling them to deliver on shared goals. These principles would broadly apply anywhere. But this talk will focus on what that means for coastal communities in the UK, by drawing on the work developed by the Foundation, through the Blue New Deal initiative.
