Before architecture, there is land. The Land Remembers is the official publication of the Lebanese Pavilion at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition, organised by La Biennale di Venezia in 2025. Extending the work of the pavilion’s fictional institution, the Ministry of Land Intelligens, this book is a living document—an evolving archive of research, testimonies, and strategies for healing landscapes marked by ecocide.
Through essays, interviews, maps, botanical drawings, and creative works, The Land Remembers reclaims land intelligens—the knowledge held within the soil, seeds, and ecosystems that persist despite destruction. How can we heal the land to build for future generations? This question runs through every page, urging architects and designers to take a more active role in environmental restoration.
