Brendan MacFarlane of Jakob + MacFarlane practises in Paris with Dominique Jakob. He presents realised and unrealised projects, browsing through the different issues, intentions, ambitions and accidents behind them. Their recent work explores digital technology as both a conceptual and fabrication means, using new materials to create a more flexible, responsive, immediate environment. Current projects include working on the Communication Centre for Renault, Maxim Gorky Theatre, and several invited competitions. In 2004 their works were presented at the Venice Biennale and in Beijing. Brendan MacFarlane studied at SCI-Arc and at Harvard GSD. From 1996 to 1998 he taught at the Bartlett and then with Jakob at the Ecole Spciale in Paris until 1999.
