This symposium addresses the work of Zaha Hadid and its major influence on later generations of artists, architects and technologists alike, taking as its starting point Hadid’s prescient early drawings and paintings. Participants will trace the genealogies of Hadid’s unique visual style while reflecting on how her works prefigured some of the major changes that took place in architecture during the 1980s and ‘ 90s.
The event has been organised by the Serpentine Galleries and the AA on the occasion of the exhibition, Zaha Hadid (Serpentine Sackler Gallery, 8 December 2016-12 February 2017).
