
Charlie is Hooke Park’s Workshop Manager and Caretaker and has lived on site with his family since 1994. He has a diverse background including mechanical engineering, forestry, furniture making and timber framing. Arriving in Hooke Park in 1990, Charlie completed a one-year Forest Manufacturing course here while the site was under the stewardship of the Parnham Trust. Charlie assists students with their making activities at Hooke Park, from bench work to building site. Working with Design and Make students as well as visiting groups from Bedford Square, he has inspired countless projects through the years as well as manufacturing bespoke tools and devices and assisting in the development of Hooke Park’s CNC and robotic fabrication facilities.
