The practice of Norman & Dawbarn was a major architectural and engineering firm established in 1934 by Graham Dawbarn and Nigel Norman. One of their specialisms lay in the design and planning of municipal airports and airport buildings, including at Gatwick and Birmingham. They also won lucrative overseas contracts, including the planning of the University College of the West Indies, in Jamaica. One of their most significant projects was the BBC Television Centre, at Wood Green, London (1949-60). Graham Dawbarn had close links to the Architectural Association, London, and was President there from 1945-1947.
