Academic Governance

The Academic Board is responsible for the academic governance of the school and its programmes of study. The Board manages the strategic oversight of academic development, quality monitoring, teaching and learning standards, and Academic Regulations; it convenes five times per year and is supported by a school-wide committee structure with delegated authority. The AA School Director is part of the Academic Board and is responsible for the AA Strategic Plan, which steers the Board’s discussions and decision-making.

Corporate Governance

The AA Council is responsible for the corporate governance of the Architectural Association. Led by Ravin Ponniah, it comprises members that are both elected and appointed specifically to oversee the delivery of the objectives enshrined in the Articles of Association. The AA School Director, an elected member of staff and a student also sit on Council, ensuring that all constituencies of the school community are represented at the highest levels of governance.

The Annual General Meeting and Ordinary General Meetings are open for all AA Members to attend, and minutes of these meetings are accessible. The committees of Council have delegated responsibilities and activities in accordance with their respective Terms of Reference.
