M. Francis Hannah Tuboku-Metzger was born in Sierra Leone, in 1944. It is not yet known to us where her early education took place but in September 1968 she joined the Fourth Year of the Architectural Association’s (AA) five-year Diploma course, in London. The following year she elected to study under the AA’s Department of Development and Tropical Studies, graduating with both an AA Diploma and postgraduate Certificate. In 1970 she married, taking the family name of Easmon. She appears to have remained in London and by the mid-1980s she was working within the Property Services Agency, of the Directorate of Defense Services, based within the Whitgift Centre, Croydon in 1985. Ten years later she is recorded as working in the Overseas Estate Department of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
